These are pictures of my first attempts at dovetails, and half blind dovetails at that.  I am cutting these for the kitchen table my wife requested.  These pieces are the kickers and sides of the drawer compartment.  Since I am cutting into the sides of the boards for the half-blind the cutting is a bit odd.  They are a bit easier to cut than I thought (I used Ian Kirby's book as a reference).  However, I've learned that sharp chisels are REALLY important, my marking knife (from Woodcraft) is useless and my dull old Swiss Army Knife is the best marking knife in the world.  Click on pictures to see a larger version.
